Transcription questions

How much does transcription cost in Alberta?

English audio transcription starts at $3 per minute and French or other languages start at $5 per minute. The minimum order is $99 and prices do not include the 5% tax. Certified translation of the finished transcript is charged separately at $0.15 per word.

How long does transcription take?

Most recordings are returned within 1 to 3 days. Longer files or difficult audio may take more time, and the exact turnaround is confirmed together with the price before the order is placed.

Do you transcribe French and English audio?

Yes. French and English are the two main languages of the service, and French audio is transcribed from $5 per minute. Recordings in other languages are accepted as well.

Can the transcript be translated and certified?

Yes. A finished transcript can be translated from more than 50 languages and issued as a certified translation for immigration, court, insurance and academic use, billed at $0.15 per word.

Do multiple speakers or background noise cost extra?

No. Speaker labelling and background noise are included in the per-minute rate. Timestamps, verbatim style, captions and subtitles are the only paid extras.

How do I send a recording in Calgary or Edmonton?

Audio and video can be uploaded through the form on this page. A CD or flash drive can also be dropped off at our office, and files larger than 100MB are accepted through the Dropbox page, up to 10GB.
