What we handle, and where a local specialist comes in

Translation Agency of Alberta prepares certified translations of your documents. The resource categories above cover the steps that sit next to a translation and are handled by other specialists: legal advice, notarial acts, settlement support and admissions. Knowing which side a task belongs to usually saves a round of paperwork.

On our side: translating the document, certifying it, and delivering a digital PDF plus a stamped paper set. On the other side: advice on your application, a notarized true copy of an original, or the submission itself. We prepare the translation to the requirements of the receiving organization; that organization decides whether to accept the package.

Practical details before you order

Regular certified translation is priced per document: $59 for one page, $99 for two pages and $30 for each extra page, with a passport stamp at $7. Prices do not include taxes (5% GST). ATIA certified and notarized translation start from $99 and take 2-4 days longer.

Most regular translations are completed within 1–2 business days. A clear scan or phone photo of every page is enough — there is no need to mail originals. A hard copy, a scan, or both are included at no extra charge, and Xpresspost is $30 when the printed set is time-sensitive. Rates and the fee calculator are on the pricing page.

Alberta context

The service is online across the province, so clients in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray and the smaller communities all order the same way. The requests we see most often alongside local specialists are IRCC translation, AAIP translation for Alberta Advantage Immigration Program files, driver licence exchange translation for a registry agent counter, and academic records for colleges and credential evaluation.

Formats differ by recipient: immigration files normally use regular certified translation, courts and a few official bodies require the separate ATIA route, and a notary step is usually named only by authorities outside Canada. The format guide explains the choice.

Common questions

Do you recommend specific partner organizations in Alberta?
We list resource categories rather than names. Specific organizations are added only after review, so no partners are listed yet, and a listed category is not an endorsement.

Can you notarize my document as well as translate it?
Notarization is a separate step handled by a notary public. We prepare notarized translation from $99 when the receiving organization asks for it, and it takes 2-4 days longer than a regular certified order.
