For outside Canada

Read carefully please

Usually the types of documents used outside of Canada are translated for marriage, permanent residency, education, pension applications, business purposes, immigration (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, USCIS).

Mexican, Cuban, Russian, Spanish and some other consulates may require translations to be notarized, association-certified, or authenticated before use outside Canada. Regular certified translation starts from CAD 59 for a standard one-page document; a typical two-page document is CAD 99. ATIA-related or notarized translation starts from CAD 99. Xpresspost is CAD 33 when faster hard-copy delivery is needed. Authentication, legalization and special mailing steps are quoted after we review the destination authority requirements.

First

Prepare all documents in a timely fashion. Keep in mind that the translation preparation for foreign authorities can take weeks, and if declined for any reason it will take time to re-do.

Second

Be sure to find out the type of certification required by the foreign organization. Is notarization required? How about or legalization? These all require different types of stamps and signatures. Failing to research the type of certification needed may result in rejection of the translation.

Third

Let us know the exact translation requirements that need to be met.

Fourth

Be ready to pay extra for the service. Most of the time our regular fees will not be applicable for translations to be used abroad.

We would love to help you to get your documents properly prepared. Beware, authentication of our notarized translations for use outside Canada are to be are to be done in Ottawa by mail or in person.
