Certified Translation for Immigration in Alberta
IRCC asks for a complete translation of every document that is not in English or French, together with a signed statement from the translator. That is our regular certified translation: $59 for a one-page document, most orders in 1-2 business days.
What it costs
For an immigration file, the regular certified translation is the right service. Order the other two only when a specific body names them.
Regular certified translation

- For consulates and foreign institutions
- Takes 2-4 days longer
Prices do not include GST (5%). Passport stamp $7 each. Volume discount from $400. Upload the whole package at once and the total is calculated for the set.
What IRCC expects to see
Every certified document in your package carries these elements. Missing one is the usual reason a file comes back.
- A complete translation, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes
- The translator's declaration that the translation is accurate
- The translator's name, contact details and signature
- A copy of the original document attached to the translation
- Names and dates consistent across every document in the package
- Certified PDF for the online application, hard copy by Canada Post if you need paper

Why immigration translations get rejected
These four come up again and again in files that have to be redone.
- A partial translationSeals, stamps and handwritten notes count. If it is printed on the document, it belongs in the translation.
- Two spellings of the same nameThe passport spelling has to match everything else in the package. Send the passport with the rest and we align it.
- A translation done by a relativeIRCC does not accept translations by the applicant or family members. The certification has to come from the translator.
- Missing the copy of the originalThe certified translation travels with a copy of the source document. We attach it in every order.
Questions about IRCC translations in Alberta
Does IRCC require a certified translation?
Documents that are not in English or French have to be submitted with a complete translation and a translator's declaration. Our regular certified translation is prepared for exactly that.
How much does it cost?
$59 plus GST for a one-page document, $99 for two pages, $30 for each page after that. Passport stamps are $7 each.
Do I need ATIA certification for IRCC?
Normally no. Regular certified translation is what an immigration file needs. ATIA is for bodies that ask for it by name.
How long does a package take?
Most regular certified translations are ready within 1-2 business days. Large packages are quoted with a date before you pay.
Can I send photos from my phone?
Yes, if the whole document is in frame, straight and readable. Poor scans are the most common reason we come back with questions.
