When you need a certified diploma translation
Foreign-language diplomas usually need a certified English translation when they are part of an immigration package, a credential evaluation, a university admission or a regulated-profession application. IRCC and AAIP files often include diplomas alongside transcripts. WES and IQAS evaluators ask for both the qualification and the record of study. Canadian universities, colleges and employers also request a clean English version when reviewing your background.
The certified format is the same in each case: a translation signed and stamped by a qualified translator, paired with a copy of the original diploma and any back-side text or apostille pages.
What we translate
We translate the academic awards most commonly submitted with Alberta files:
- Bachelor's, master's and doctorate diplomas
- College and trade school diplomas and certificates
- Post-graduate certificates and professional qualifications
- Diploma supplements and Bologna annexes
- Honours, distinctions and academic awards listed on the certificate
- Apostilled or legalized originals — translated together with the apostille
For the academic record that usually accompanies the diploma, see the school document translation page. For the immigration angle, the academic credential translation page covers what to expect on the certified output. The record-of-study side of WES, ICAS and IQAS files is on our transcript translation for WES in Alberta page.
How to order
Upload a clear scan or phone photo of the diploma, both sides if there is text on the back, and any supplement or apostille pages. Use the order form to send everything in one go. Once the online quote is accepted, the certified PDF is delivered when the translator signs off. The printed certified copy ships by Canada Post.
Common questions
Should I translate the diploma alone or together with the transcript?
For credential evaluations and university admissions, the diploma and the transcript are usually submitted together because they describe different things — the qualification awarded and the courses taken. We commonly translate them as one package.
Can you translate degree supplements and Bologna annexes?
Yes. Diploma supplements, Bologna annexes and post-graduate certificates are part of the same family of academic records. Send the supplement together with the diploma and we will translate them in a consistent format.
Is the stamp on the translation or on the diploma?
The translator stamp and signature are placed on the certified translation pages, not on your original diploma. The translation is paired with a copy of the diploma, which is the standard certified format.
