When you need a certified transcript translation
WES, ICAS and similar evaluators normally require a translation of academic records that are not already in English or French. The same expectation applies when you apply directly to a Canadian university or college, ask the IQAS service for an Alberta credential assessment, or send academic history to an employer or regulator that wants to confirm your background.
Each receiving body has its own routing rules — some allow the applicant to submit the translation, others ask the issuing institution to send it directly with the original. We provide the certified translation; you follow the routing route assigned to your file. Applicants whose evaluation is part of an IRCC or AAIP immigration package see the same certified format on the immigration side.
What we translate
We regularly translate the academic records most commonly used in Alberta credential evaluations:
- Academic transcripts and statements of marks
- Records of study, semester reports and grade booklets
- Diploma supplements and Bologna grade descriptions
- Course descriptions and syllabi where evaluators ask for them
- Degree certificates and post-graduate diplomas paired with the transcript
- Apostilled or legalized originals — translated together with the apostille
For broader school and academic translation, see the school document translation page. For immigration education files, the academic credential translation page covers what to expect on the certified output. The qualification side of the same evaluation is on our diploma translation in Alberta page.
How to order
Upload your transcripts and any related diplomas as clear scans or phone photos. Add the destination — WES, ICAS, IQAS, a specific university or an employer — in the order notes so we can match the formatting expectations. We confirm scope, price and timeline, you pay online, and the certified PDF is sent over as soon as it is signed off. The printed paper set ships by Canada Post, including in a sealed envelope on request.
Common questions
Does WES accept the translation directly from the applicant?
WES policies vary by country and document type, and they sometimes ask for the translation to arrive together with the original from the issuing institution. We provide a certified translation in the standard format and you submit it according to the route WES has assigned to your file.
Can you provide a sealed-envelope translation?
Yes. On request, we ship the certified translation in a sealed envelope so that it can be forwarded together with the source documents where the receiving body asks for that format.
Can you translate transcripts and diplomas in one order?
Yes. Transcripts, diplomas and degree supplements are often submitted together. Send everything at once and we will quote them as a single package with a single timeline.
